The day was hot. In fact, it was absolutely scorching. The heat hit so hard it felt like flesh could melt off of the bone itself and pool into a fleshy puddle. So, what would a person do on a day as hellish as this?

    Beach vacation for a day.

That’s right, you and the Crusader gang gave a big ol’ fuck you to the head and decided to spend the rest of the day at a sweet beach, picking a private section on the side where no public was allowed to access unless reserved. It was mainly Polnareff’s stupid idea, but the heat was so bad that everyone easily agreed to go. A good break was needed, and appealed even more when the option to keep it away from the public was there.

All six of you plus Iggy had arrived at the beach in the mid afternoon, glittering waters and untouched sand waiting there to greet you. The sight was incredibly gorgeous, complimented with a gentle breeze that ruffled your loose shorts and shirt as it blew by. You wanted to stare at this beautiful scenery a while longer, but it became promptly ruined as Polnareff darted forward, dropping everything in his arms as he upturned the sand, ripped his shirt off, and launched himself into the water.

“Good god. Someone’s a little over excited.” Joseph commented with a chuckle.

“Yo thanks for ruining the scenery!” You yelled out, sighing deeply.

“WOO! FUCK YO SCENERY!” Polnareff screamed back at you once he surfaced, middle fingers pointed in every direction.

“Yare yare daze…” Jotaro mumbled, unamused by his comrade’s behavior.

“Your hair is all fucked up now by the way.” You commented mildly, a sneer on your face as you set your things down nicely next to the pile of crap Polnareff dropped.

“… FUCK!” He yelled in disdain, his voice echoing across the body of water so loudly that people on the opposing end of the beach could possibly hear him.

“He’s mad, but he did it to himself. What a genius.” Kakyoin scoffed sarcastically.

“Tell me about it.” You nodded, starting to spread out towels for everyone to comfortably lay on.

“Well I don’t know about you guys, but I’m gonna change and start the FUN instead of BITCHING.” Joseph commented, spontaneously ripping off his shirt in almost the same manner that Polnareff did.

“Joseph what the fuck you’re sixty-nine. Calm your tits.” You told him, raising a brow.

    “Yeah but I’m RIPPED.”

You muttered a quiet ‘oh my god’ under your breath with a chuckle, shaking your head. Looking over at Jotaro his eyes became shaded over as shame loomed over him, clearly embarrassed by his grandfather.

“I don’t know who’s more of a handful here: the teens, or you, Joseph.” Avdol snickered, casually removing the amount of clothing desired for a day on the beach.

    “Ouch, so harsh!” Joseph whined.

While the two ‘adults’ bickered, you stood there with crossed arms as you shook your head, thankful for everyone’s plan to already be wearing their swim shorts before you came to the beach. There was no way this was going to be a quiet vacation though. Not with all this madness. Sighing, you began sticking a couple umbrellas into the sand once you grabbed them from the mess of objects on the ground, starting some setup as you provided shade for whenever it would be needed. You opened the cooler underneath one of he umbrellas to keep it from the harsh sunlight, advertising the selection of soda cans and bottles of hard liquor that were brought for everyone to see and pick from whenever they so desired.

“_______, aren’t you going to change soon?” Kakyoin asked, approaching you as you finished setting up the basics.

Turning around to speak to him properly, you seen that every single one of them had already changed out of their heavy clothing and into something that made them ready for a day in the sun swim shorts having already been on prior to clothing removal. Even Jotaro removed his jacket and oh so cherished hat for the heat, joining the party of shirtless idiots on the sand. “Yeah, I was just about to do that actually! Except I’ll go to the change room over behind those trees because I’m not a stripping WHORE.” You responded, directing your last comment at Polnareff in specific.

“OI!” The silver haired man yelled from a few feet away, having dug a massive hole in the sand already for some reason.

“Alright. See you in a sec then!” Kakyoin chuckled, dropping his heavy clothing near one of the towels and heading off to begin the day of fun in the sun.

“Yup!” You nodded, grabbing your small bag that you brought with yourself and heading off for the little bamboo changing room that hid behind a line of trees.

Walking on by the idiotic half naked men you called your comrades and friends, you disappeared behind the small line of trees where the changing stall was located to change into something a little more appropriate for time on the beach. Walking into the small bamboo structure, you latched the door closed and wasted no time in stripping yourself of your regular attire, replacing it with your chosen swimwear for the day. Making adjustments to the pieces so they sat on your body appropriately, you collected your regular clothes and shoved them back into your bag, leaving the stall to go rejoin the group outside.

Stopping at the edge of the treeline that hid the stall you glanced around to see what everyone was up to at the moment. It seemed that Avdol was reading something, Kakyoin and Joseph having taken to burying Polnareff in that hole he dug earlier. Jotaro was kneeled at the edge of the water watching some marine life with great enthusiasm, showing signs of mild irritation when Polnareff emerged from the sand obnoxiously, yelling something about how even the forces of nature could not contain him. You giggled a little at the scene before you, shaking your head as you finally stepped out into view.

“Hey guys, I’m back!” You called, waving your hand in the air.

When the group turned to look at you from the sound of your voice, there was a solid moment of silence before it was broken by a loud whistle from Polnareff, a shit eating grin on his face. What you were wearing was a lovely deep blue bikini, a similar coloured sarong tied at your hips tinted delicately with a silver shimmer. You glittered wonderfully in the sunlight, getting an impressed nod from everyone. When Jotaro saw you though, his jaw practically dropped, mind torn from the starfish he was observing as his vision locked onto you. To him, you looked absolutely stunning, like a beautiful mermaid. The myths of the sea were something he glanced at only once in a while due to them not being true facts, but one look at you could instantly make him believe any of those myths to be real, his face tinting a bright pink for the first time in a long time.

“Lookin’ good _______~!” Polnareff commented, Joseph slapping his head for the comment.

“That’s quite a lovely selection for the beach. It suits you well.” Kakyoin commented with a smile.

“Thank you! I’ve been wanting to try and pull this look off for a while.” You said, giving an appreciative nod to the thumbs up from Joseph and Avdol.

A couple glances went to Jotaro, yours included. He didn’t move for a moment, locking eyes with yours for a brief moment. Lips pressed tightly together, he just nodded, stood, and went to go do something else, looking very stiff.

    “What’s his deal?” Polnareff mumbled.

“I dunno…” You responded, a sad sort of look in your eyes.

“Bah, no matter! Let’s have some fun, eh?” He chimed.

‘I agree. Shall we?” Kakyoin added, locking a knowing glance with Polnareff.

“Yeah, let’s get this day- UWAH!” You started to agree as well, but the abrupt lifting of your body from the ground made you scream.

“TO THE WATER!” Kakyoin and Polnareff cheered, running at the body of water with you in their arms.

You screamed in protest but it meant nothing to the two males as they proceeded to hurl you into the water, soaking you completely and themselves as well from the splash. Once you resurfaced with a gasp for air you gave the most sinister look at the two, vengeance looming in your eyes.

“You little FUCKERS!” You yelled, reaching out and grabbing the wrists of each of them and flinging them downwards into the water with a great splash. “You messed with the wrong girl, boys~”

Shooting a victorious look at Joseph and Avdol laughing their asses off back on shore, you briefly made eye contact with Jotaro, him immediately glancing away to look at more marine life when your eyes met. You sighed, disappointed with his sudden avoidance. You couldn’t linger on the worrying thought much longer though as you were pulled into the water by your ankles, triggering one hell of a water war.

That’s virtually how the afternoon persisted on into the evening: a very intense war in the water until the sun dipped down into it. At some point Joseph and Avdol joined in, obviously siding with you to help assist in the takedown of the two younger moronic males. Jotaro still remained on the beach, occasionally watching the group splash around while he sat with Iggy who was endlessly sunbathing. Every once in a while, his eyes would meet yours, to which he responded with immediately turning his head to the side to look at something else. From that distance you couldn’t see him blushing, but it was there, all while he occupied himself with a bottle of cola.

Once the sky had surely faded its blue to a streak of bring oranges and pinks across purple, the five of you finally went back ashore to dry off for the evening while a large bonfire was lit for warmth and food. The environment carried a happy social vibe, lively conversation being made between everyone, including Jotaro. But even though he seemed more social, Jotaro also avoided conversation with you as much as possible, remaining on the opposite side of the bonfire or using one word answers to quickly get away. It confused you, and even made you a little sad. You really liked him and all, but now he was avoiding you like the plague and it made you feel alienated from his world. Giving a disappointed sigh, you shook it off for the moment and maintained the upbeat conversation with your friends as the sun slipped more into the horizon.

Soon, the sky was a mix of purple and a cutting black, tints of bright pink still underlining the remaining clouds with the tiniest amount of sun still showing beyond the horizon. By now almost everyone had downed a couple cups of hard liquor, leaving Polnareff face down on a towel passed out, Kakyoin slung lazily across a chair, Avdol and Joseph still with half filled cups more maturely passed out upright in some chairs… If that was even possible to pass out maturely. Jotaro was the only one that didn’t get himself slammed, just like you. He only remained sober though, so he could finally talk to you tonight.

At this exact moment you were standing with your back to the still strongly burning fire, completely dried off as you gazed out at the deep blue waters tinted with orange sunlit shimmers, the first stars of the night faintly showing themselves. After most of the group passed out a peaceful silence came over the beach, calming you as the sound of the waves echoed past your ears. The silence soon became disturbed though as footsteps sifted through the sand, bringing your vision in the direction of the new sound for you to see Jotaro standing next to you.

“O-oh, hey! Nice night out…” You greeted casually, your tone quite nervous with a little stammer. You were quite shocked that he approached you, considering all he did was avoid you today.

“Yeah…” He nodded in agreement, leaving a long gap of silence. In the silence, you had broken into a slight nervous sweat, shifting where you stood. “_______, I…” He began to speak again, losing his words fairly quickly.

“Ah god I’m sorry Jotaro!” You interrupted, your little internal worries coming out. “I know I’ve been being really obnoxious all day. I noticed you avoiding me a lot today and I know you really hate pointless screeching. I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to revolt you.” You said, disappointment running thick in your tone.

Jotaro blinked, having been oblivious to the knowledge of that being what you thought. “No, no that’s not it at all. _______ I… I couldn’t talk to you today because I didn’t know how. I’ve been avoiding you because you’re so… So beautiful that I’m just lost.”

Your face contorted into a confused and embarrassed expression, a strong blush rising to your cheeks. “E-eh?!”

“When you came out from changing and I looked up from examining the marine life… I thought you looked so beautiful… Like a mermaid.” He told you. “Every bit of you was, and still is gorgeous. I-it made me think about how much I’m falling in love with you… Again.”

You stared, eyes wide from hearing his confession. He really avoided you all day, just because of that?

“You can… Kick me if you want. S-sorry if I pissed you off r you don’t feel the same.” Jotaro coughed, looking to the side with embarrassment.

You didn’t kick him. Instead you grabbed him and pulled him into a tight hug, squishing your face into his chest. “No. I- That’s the most reassuring thing I’ve heard all day. I genuinely thought you were annoyed with me. I’m… Glad.”

Quite surprised that you chose not to beat him, he looked down at your smaller form with slight astonishment before his expression shifted to a softer one, slowly returning your hug.

“Sorry.” He mumbled. “I’m really bad at expressing myself.”

“Bad? You’re fucking terrible.” You chuckled dryly. Glancing up at him with a weak smile. “You really scared me there for a second.”

“I figured out how to put it now though. When I seen you, you looked stunning enough to make me believe that mermaids actually existed. It’s hard to get me to side with myths, but you’d make me believe it. This is the first time I’ve seen you and been rendered wordless for most of the day. But, it really gave me time to think and decide that I really have been in love with you for a while now, and you need to know that.” He told you honestly.

He didn’t even keep his words short. He full out told you his hear with not a single evasive ‘yare’ in his sentences. You teared up a bit, and instead of offering him a response, you leaned up as much as you could while pulling him down a little until your lips touched. Jotaro lost his composure for a moment to the surprise kiss, almost falling forward. He stabilized himself fast enough though and settled down, taking in your wordless gesture with slight hesitation, his heart thumping against his chest madly. Even so his eyes eventually slid closed as he held you close as well before you pulled your lips back, nuzzling into the crook of his neck.

“I love you too, Jotaro. That’s why I kinda go sad, because I thought you were gonna push me out of your world… And I don’t know what I would do if that happened.” You sighed, voice cracking.

“Don; worry _______. I would never let a mermaid like you go. I want to be with you forever. I’m sorry it took so long for me to figure out how to tell you.” He mumbled sweetly, kissing the top of your head.

“I know now, so nothing else matters.” You said, hugging him tightly. “God… I love you.”

    “I love you too, _______.”

It's kinda OOC and stuff... But liek, it was an idea and it's floofy as fuCK. Enjoy a Jotaro that isn't a total ass for once. LOL
